Hold to pump the lamp brighter, release to let it fade. Keep the glow inside the drifting safe band or the moths close in.
👆 Hold to pump, release to dim ← All gamesLantern is a one-finger balancing game about holding a flame steady rather than dodging anything. The column on the right of the screen is your brightness meter, and somewhere along it sits a green safe band that never stops drifting up and down. Press and hold to pump the lamp and push the marker upward; let go and the flame sinks back down on its own, faster than it rose. Your job is to chase that green band with pressure alone — a long squeeze to climb into a high band, a clean release to fall into a low one. While the marker sits inside the band your score climbs quickly and the moths back off. Stray outside and the pink bar along the bottom fills, the swarm tightens its circle, and a full bar ends the night.
Tap once to light the lamp. Then hold anywhere on the screen to raise the flame and release to let it drop — on desktop the Space bar works the same way. The band moves on its own clock and speeds up the longer you survive, so you are never allowed to settle into one comfortable brightness for long.
Falling is faster than rising, so aim slightly high and feather the hold in short pulses instead of long ones. Watch which way the band is travelling before you commit: pumping hard into a band that is already sliding down wastes the climb. When the moth bar is nearly full, forget about scoring and park the marker dead centre of the band until it drains back down — one recovered second is worth more than a greedy point.
