You stand on the edge of a tower with a gap in front of you and the next rooftop on the far side. Press and hold, and a steel beam telescopes upward from under your feet — the longer you hold, the longer it gets. Let go and the beam swings down like a falling ladder. Land its far end anywhere on the next roof and you walk across; come up short, or overshoot past the far edge, and you stroll straight off the end into the dark. Hold anywhere on the screen to extend the beam and release to drop it. There is no aiming and no timing window — only length, measured entirely by eye against the gap ahead. Each successful crossing adds to your span, and hitting the yellow marker at the centre of the roof scores double as a perfect. Gaps widen and rooftops narrow the longer you survive, so the same hold that was comfortable in the first ten seconds becomes far too short later on.
Look at the gap before you press, not at the beam while it grows — people who watch the beam almost always release late. Release a fraction early rather than late: a beam that is slightly too long still lands as long as the roof is wide, but only if the roof has not already narrowed. Chase perfects while the pads are still generous, because they are worth double and the early game is where the free points are. When a roof looks barely wider than the beam itself, stop aiming for the marker and just aim for the middle of the surface.
