Spindle!

Rings hover above a keyed spindle and spin. Tap to drop one at the instant its gold notch meets the key. Square seats settle the column; crooked ones feed the wobble gauge, and a full gauge brings the stack down.

Spindle — Free Online 3D Ring Stacking Timing Game

Spindle is a game about one small angle. A shaft stands in front of you with a key fin bolted to its side, and a ring hangs in the air above it, turning steadily. Somewhere on that ring is a gold notch, and the only way the ring can slide down the shaft cleanly is if the notch is over the key at the moment it is released. There is no aiming and no steering — the ring's rotation is out of your hands and the fall is instant. All you choose is when to let go, which makes the whole game a question of reading a rotating landmark against a fixed one and committing a fraction of a second before they actually meet.

How to play

Tap anywhere on the canvas, or press space, to drop the hovering ring. The ring glows pale and its notch turns green while it is inside the alignment window, so the timing is learnable rather than guessed. A dead-centre release is a perfect seat and pays the most; a merely clean one still keeps your streak. Miss by a little and the ring lands crooked, which still counts as a ring but pushes the wobble gauge on the left side of the screen upward. Miss badly and it jams, costing a lot of gauge and your multiplier. Hesitating is not a safe option either: if you never commit, the ring sinks on its own and seats at whatever angle it happens to be showing.

The wobble gauge and the second act

The gauge is what makes this a run and not a string of isolated attempts. It drains slowly while you play, so a patient stretch of good seats can nurse a shaky column back to vertical, and the whole stack visibly leans further as it fills. Only a full gauge ends the game, which means no single mistake is fatal and the tension builds over time. At twenty-six points the header reads KEY TURNING: the key itself begins to counter-rotate, so instead of tracking one moving notch against a fixed target you are closing two angles at once and the window sweeps past much faster. Three clean seats in a row start the multiplier, which climbs to three times.
