Airlock puts you in a small escape pod drifting down the central corridor of a derelict space station. The power is mostly gone, the lights flicker in their struts, and every few seconds another sealed airlock door slides toward you out of the dark. The pod cannot stop and cannot steer, so the only thing you control is when each door blows. That one decision, made again every couple of seconds, is the whole game.
Tap anywhere to blow the next door. Its frame changes colour as it closes in: grey while it is armed, amber when blowing it is safe but loose, and green for the last safe moment before impact. Your air reserve leaks the whole time, and the only way to refill it is the pressure pocket behind each door: the later you blow, the more air rushes back in. A green blow is a clean blow worth five points times your chain multiplier and twelve air, and the final sliver before impact is a razor blow worth double. Blow early and you get almost nothing back and lose the chain. Wait too long and the pod slams into the hatch and loses a hull plate. Playing it safe is not safe here: a run of early, nervous blows suffocates you just as surely as a run of slams. Tapping with no door in range is a wasted vent that costs air.
After sixty points, or about twenty-five seconds, the station alarms turn red and double airlocks appear: an outer door with an inner door close behind it. The inner door stays locked until a moment after the outer one blows, so if you are greedy and blow the outer door at the very last instant, the inner one arrives still locked and you hit it. Now every pair asks a different question: how late can you take the first door and still leave room for the second? The vent charge also needs a short recharge between blows, and some doors arrive already breached, torn open with a teal glow. There is nothing to blow on those, and tapping one wastes air and your chain. Chill, Normal and Hard change the drift speed and the size of the green window, and Hard gives you only two hull plates.
