Your lamplighter walks the night streets on their own. Tap left or right to choose the turn at the next corner, walk through lamps to refuel them, and reach the one burning lowest before it goes out. Three dark lamps end the night.
👆 Tap the left or right half to set the next turn ← All gamesLamplighter drops you onto a small gaslit town at night, seen from above as a grid of streets between low houses. Your lamplighter never stops walking: one block at a time, carrying a little flame on a pole. You do not steer them directly. Instead you choose what happens at the next corner. Tap the left half of the screen to turn left there, the right half to turn right, and tap the other side to go back to straight on. A chevron on the junction ahead always shows the turn you have queued, and once the walker is almost at the corner it locks in and your taps start planning the corner after.
Every lamp on the grid burns down at its own rate, and the ring on the ground around it shrinks as its oil runs low, going amber and then flashing red in its last six seconds. Walking through a lamp's junction refuels it, and a lamp that is nearly out pays far more than one that is still half full, with a double-points ember save for anything under a fifth. The skill is triage: reach the lamp with the least time left and your multiplier climbs, but chase the nearest easy refuel and the far corner quietly goes dark. Each lamp that goes out is a strike, and three strikes end the night. Lamps burn faster as the night wears on and new ones appear across town.
At 30 points the oil can arrives. Each refuel now spends one of three pips, and with an empty can you walk straight past a dying lamp unable to help. Only a walk through the glowing teal depot in the middle of town refills it, so your route has to fit in the detour before you run dry, not after.
